Yes, I would add it to the OpenSFS at LUG meeting info on the Events page.

Ok great - thank you for the confirmation - I just got off the Phone with Ryan (407-238-8726) at the hotel and he is going to set it up and send me a phone number right now - I will send that number out to all the working group e-mail addresses and should I post it on the website?

We want a single polycom and telephone line available for tomorrow from 1 - 5

Please make sure they bill OpenSFS for this.

Thanks,

Galen

I never got confirmation on which avenue we want to go with this - please let me know if you want me to set up a phone-line and use your own equipment/order a phone pod/order a Getner speaker system and technician.
Thank you,
Shay

ok - the $200 phone line price stays the same but then we would only have to pay for the device/technician for one day. Which unit do you want to use? Do we want it to be interactive or just so that those calling in can hear the conversation?
Thanks!

Shay,

We would only need this setup from 12 - 5pm on the 14th.

Thanks,

Galen

Hi everyone,

I just talked with the media department at the hotel and they said that everyone will have internet access. If we want to use their conference capabilities it will cost us - here is the price breakdown:
Conference pod/speaker phone (for people to listen into the event but the sound will not be loud enough for the entire audience to hear someone speaking from this unit) - total cost of $550
would have to pay $200/week of phone line (even though we are just using it for 2 days) and $175/day for the unit (so $350 total for the 2 days)

The other option is the GetNer interface device which is a phone line that is projected over the speaker system so that people can listen into the event and participate with the whole audience. Total cost would be $1150-1750
Device $350 (for both days)
Phone line $200 (for both days)
Technician $600/day

Please let me know if you would like to use either of these options and I will set it up - you can also call the media department at
407-238-8726 -

Best,
Shay

Is there an internet or telephone arrangement for the hotel during LUG?

Some external communication options...
With wired or wireless internet:
- Skype conference group, but limited range based on mic/speaker
- Voip to phone adapter with speaker phone to remote con-call number

If cell coverage is good:
- dial in to con-call # with bluetooth speaker phone (would really be for remote side to hear, not to participate due to low volume, farther than ~6 feet away would have a hard time hearing it)
- Skype conference group but limited range based on mic/speaker

Lineline speaker phone:
Just dial con-call #...

I can bring a 3 watt bluetooth speakerphone and/or a voip box with POTS output - but if the room has a hotel provided landline with speakerphone that isn't too expensive it would probably be the cleanest way to go.

Sincerely,
Ryan
