This year's Lustre User Group (LUG) conference
is moving to May 30-June 2. Arrive on May 30
in time for a grand opening reception and plan to depart June 2 in late
afternoon. Please note the new, later dates. As OpenSFS moves to a
user-governed model, we intend to host this and future conferences at or
near member sites. Toward that end, OpenSFS will host LUG 2017 at Indiana
University in Bloomington. As bonus for those inclined, the conference falls
just after the Indy 500 and is less than 60 miles from the Indianapolis
Motor Speedway. You could arrive a few days early, witness the greatest
spectacle in motor racing on the weekend, and attend LUG17 afterward.
Why you should attend: As always, LUG17 will have technical sessions on the
latest Lustre developments and best practices, and provide opportunities to
share information, network, and collaborate with your peers.
Given the recent changes in OpenSFS's organizational and membership
structure, OpenSFS members will hold their first annual meeting to elect
board members and officers.
This year's event will be held in Bloomington, Indiana, home to Indiana
University's flagship campus. IU is a major public research university,
situated on a campus identified as one of the five most beautiful in the US.
June is a wonderful month to visit and explore Bloomington's many
restaurants and theatre, comedy, concert, and other entertainment venues.
We're currently looking into adding events like a hack-a-thon, an evening
reception, and local activities for additional networking and collaboration.
How you can help: All told, we want to make sure your 2.5 days at LUG17 are
full and fruitful. Please let us know if there are specific topics you'd
like to see covered, if you'd like to participate in agenda development, or
if you have an idea for an activity or event.
Support LUG17: Is your company interested in sponsorship? LUG17 brings
together over 200 Lustre attendees. Sponsorship options include onsite
presence, social events, meals, and speaking opportunities. Contact us to
learn more.
To recap:
* Who: Over 200 Lustre users and industry peers
* What: LUG17, the industry's premier venue on Lustre and other open
source file systems
* When: May 30 to June 2, 2017
* Where: Bloomington, Indiana
We hope to see you there! If you have questions or would like to support
LUG17, please feel free to email us at admin at opensfs.org
.
