I believe libsysio is needed in order for userspace liblustre to be
usable. It provides the "POSIX/VFS" layer that applications link against,
and then liblustre provides the glue between libsysio and the Lustre
client interfaces (LOV/OSC/MDC).
There isn't a huge amount of interest in liblustre these days I think.
